Additional Property Attributes

The property was remediated as part of the cleanup of the former Pure Oil Refinery site conducted by Union Oil Company of California/Chevron Environmental Management Company, which was completed in 2009 and was performed under ODEQ oversight. This Habitat for Humanity property then entered the ODEQ Brownfields Program, with a signed Consent Order for Site Characterization effective May 25, 2011. The property received a Certificate of No Action Necessary with unrestricted residential use on September 26, 2012. ODEQ waived the oversight fee for the Brownfields Certificate process for Habitat for Humanity, Ardmore Chapter. These costs were covered by the CA #RP96681001-0 (128a grant). Chevron's costs for the cleanup of the site are estimated. DEQ's costs for writing the Brownfield Proposal are also estimated. As of 5/23/18 three homes have been built (estimated at $75,000 value each according to local market values). These three homes cover 0.77 acres so far. More homes will be built in the future.

Former Use: From 1915 to 1936, the former Pure Oil Company operated a refinery near the Property and located a crude oil storage tank on the Site. Under the oversight of ODEQ's voluntary cleanup program, the storage tank and refinery areas hace been investigated and remediated by Chevron, which had acquired the Pure Oil Company.
