Additional Property Attributes

A vacant four-story masonry/brick building (total gross floor area = 79,804 square feet) is located on the subject property; the building has no basement. The remainder of the property is improved with gravel and asphalt parking areas and driveways. The property is bound to the east and south by commercial properties, Canandaigua City Hall and residences to the north, and residences to the west. A remedial investigation including conditions beyond the 10 Chapin St. property is currently underway as part of a Brownfield Cleanup Agreement under the oversight of NYSDEC. Investigations to date have confirmed BTEX, TCE & breakdown products, and metals in groundwater migrating to the property perimeter, as well as ACM within the structure.

Former Use: Formerly occupied by coal yard, corset factory, bicycle factory, and Labelon Corporation - manufacturing transparency films and pressure sensitive labels.
