Additional Property Attributes

The site operated as a railroad cooridor for 75 years. Once railroad operations ceased in 1979, the right-of-way was deeded to teh City of Richmond and has remained vacant since. In 1994, the City removed the railroad tracks and graded sections of the Site. The Site is split into two sections (East/West), separated by six city blocks, generally following the Richmond Greenway Trail along Ohio Avenue. The Site is partially fenced, typically related to adjacent residential fencing and is vegetated primarily with dry grassess that appear to be maintained. Several trees are located onsite between 4th and 6th Streets and gardening activities are apparent in both sections. The Site is generally flat throughout and a small parking lot is located in the western portion of Section 1.

Former Use: Former railroad right-of-way. Previous sampling activities (June 1998) revealed no significant soil contamination.
