Additional Property Attributes

The property is on the National Registry of Historic Places. It is a raised, one-story, flat-roofed masonry structure in the historic urban center of Ponce. Has a typical neo-baroque articulation of the fae. Historical documentation indicates that the well-known master craftsman Elias Concepcion built the house for Mrs. Teresa Zaldo de Nebot also shows that Andre Musignac worked on the wall paintings in the interior of the house. In 1962 Mr.Arturo Fornaris Martinez buys the property from (Escuela de Enfermeras de Puerto Rico and Asociacin de Hospitales) that was officially recorded by notary Manuel Toro. Since the Fornaris family owned the property has had mixed uses as residential and administrative office for the family business (distribution of steel, medical office). Although no RECs were found during Phase I ESA activities, consultants recommend a lead and asbestos survey prior to any demolition or remodeling activities at the site.

Former Use: This is an historic residential property with possible contamination of lead paint and asbestos. The property is close to other commercial properties in use and has historic architectural value, and contextual urban awareness / contribution. The site was constructed in the 1895 by Mr. El Concepcin. At present the house is vacant. This property belonged to Mrs. Teresa Zaldo de Nebot. The present owners of the property are the brothers Mr. Arturo Fornaris and Mr. Jose Abner Fornaris who inherited the property from his father in 1975.
