Additional Property Attributes

The property appeared on Sanborn Maps in 1933, as a dwelling. In 1933, the property was used as a dwelling. An auto salvage yard is located across the street to the east encompassing a four square block area. A Bulk Oil station is located one block to the south and another auto salvage operation and yard are located one block to the west. A Lumber company is located next door to the west. In 1950, the property used as a dwelling, a welding facility, and a restaurant. The surrounding auto salvage uses and bulk oil station are still present. In 1957, the dwelling is no longer shown, but the restaurant and welding facility are on site. The bulk oil facility is still present one block to the south and a truck body factory is located on the adjacent to the west. The auto salvage operation to the east has been replaced with parts storage and a junk yard. All sandborn maps show a railroad located one block adjacent from the site to the south and east (a curved line). The proposed use for the site is for purchase and private redevelopment in accordance with the Historic Route 66/College Street Redevelopment Plan recommendations for commercial uses.
