Additional Property Attributes

The property is located near two Superfund sites and is or has been contaminated with the insecticide DDT, heavy metals, and volatile organic compounds. A number of assessments and remedial actions have taken place at the site to address the contamination. Engineering controls consisting of vapor barriers below future site structures and a of clean soil above slag are in place. This assessment was implemented following award of technical assistance to the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust to evaluate the subject property through the U.S. EPA Targeted Brownfields Assessment program. A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment was performed under this TBA to identify RECs that may require further assessment to determine the potential for public and environmental exposure to contaminants of concern. LANLT plans to redevelop the subject property as a public park.
