Additional Property Attributes

Property is comprised of 3 parcels totaling 36.5 acres. A community cemetery occupies a portion of one parcel. The remainder of the Property is undeveloped. The Property at and around the Cemetery has been deed from the County to the City of Fernley. The City of Fernley will continue to operate the cemetery however the excess land around the cemetery is slated to be developed as a community center. The City is moving forward with a feasibility study for project. The Phase I and Phase II has help clear the environmental hurtled that could interfere with the project moving forward.

Former Use: Property was first developed as a homestead/farm as early as 1954; was likely a working farm until the Interstate-80 freeway was constructed. Property was donated to the County in 1978, homestead/farm was demolished in the early to mid 1980s, and cemetery was developed around that time period.
