Additional Property Attributes

Based upon the presence and amount of 1) SVOCs, the following PAH; benzo(a)pyrene, and the following 2) TAL Metal; arsenic and the following 3) pesticide; Dieldrin at the Site, these analytes were evaluated further as potential constituents of concern. Upon closer examination of the data and taking into account site specific uses and exposures for the proposed site, the level of metals, pesticides and PAHs were determined to not present any excess risk to the users of the Site. The levels of B(a)P observed is well within what would be expected in a highly urbanized area. The pesticide Dieldrin is also ubiquitous in the environment, although usually at very low levels. The level of arsenic was also well within the natural background for the area. Given these factors, plus the additional soil, compost and fertilizers that will be amended to the garden beds, we do not believe the soil will present any excess risk to gardeners or consumers of the produce.

Former Use: The property was historically developed with houses and/or businesses from approximately 1954 to sometime between 2005 and 2009. The Site has subsequently been used as a hang out in a heavily trafficked urban environment where trash has been continually left on the property. The Site is currently owned by the City of Aurora, Parks, Recreation and Open Space.
