Additional Property Attributes

Site consists of seven buildings located on two parcels owned by the City of Vallejo on the northern portion of Mare Island. The buildings were formerly used as barracks by the Navy and are either dilapidated or in a condition where the cost of remodeling the buildings to comply with current building codes exceeds any return on investment. The TBA was conducted to identify potentially hazardous materials in the building construction materials that would need to be addressed prior to their demolition. The presence of asbestos containing materials and lead based paint was found at the site.

Former Use: The site includes 7 buildings on 2 parcels owned by the City of Vallejo, that were formerly barracks for the US Navy from the 1940s to the 1980s.
