Additional Property Attributes

The redevelopment of the Mile High Stadium surface parking lot is planned to be acquired by a Colorado state agency as it new headquarters. The 175,000 square foot, multi-story office buildings will house approximately 650 state employees. The site is adjacent to the existing Federal-Decatur West Corridor light rail station and the Sun Valley homes redevelopment project.

Former Use: Based on a review of the historical information, the site appears to have been developed from as early as 1904 with multiple residences. Many of the residences remained present through the late 1950s. A school was present on the northern portion of the site from as early as 1924 through the late 1940s. A portion of a junkyard, related to the east adjoining property, was present on-site during the late 1930s. During the 1960s, many of the residences were razed and the site was utilized as a junkyard, metal scrap yard, and automotive wrecking facility. These activities persisted through the late 1970s. The site was undeveloped during the 1980s and has been a paved surface parking lot since the early 1990s.Immediately to the west and northwest, three historical gas stations were identified. A historical landfill was identified on the southern adjacent property.
