Additional Property Attributes

The Site currently serves as an arts center and demonstration garden, and has historically included both residential and commercial uses. The community garden is used as a demonstration garden for multiple garden designs and techniques, including growing edibles. The soil in the garden area consists of soil from the Site amended with compost and other additives. A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment was conducted at the site. No sample collection and analysis occurred at the site.

Former Use: The Site is located at an elevation of approximately 195 feet above mean sea level (amsl) in a densely mixed urban, commercial and residential area, zoned as �Civic/Cultural Arts District.� The Site is on relatively flat land located approximately 1.75 miles north-northeast of faulted and uplifted coastal hills rising to peaks of approximately 700 to 1,700 feet amsl. Uvas Creek is located approximately 5,000 feet southwest of the Site, and flows in a north to northwest direction. APN 799-08-042 contains a 6,300 square-foot commercial structure constructed in 1969. The Site parcels and building are currently owned by the City. The Site is bordered to the south by 7th Avenue, south of which is the Pacheco Pass Motel, the Radiator King Auto Care Center, and a residence. North of the site is the Veterans Memorial Building and Porcella�s Music Store. East of the site is Monterey Road, east of which are a parking lot, the Garlic City Casino and Restaurant, and a closed former gas station. West of the site is Eigleberry Street, west of which are residential properties.
