Additional Property Attributes

This Phase II ESA investigated a previous petroleum release at the location of a former dispenser island and underground piping that was used when the property was a gas station. Based on laboratory results, petroleum impacts are present in the sub-surface soils ranging from 2 5 ft bgs in the areas of the former pump island and underground piping. In addition, groundwater is contaminated above the Montana Department of Environmental Quality's screening levels. A comparison of 1999 and 2016 investigation results indicate a substantial amount of contaminant biodegradation has occurred in the past 17 years.

Former Use: The property is currently used as a bar, restaurant, motel/rental cabins and RV park. In addition, there are numerous buildings on the property including a garage, shop, shed and mobile homes. The former owner used the property as a gas station. In 1992, the gas station operations ceased including the four above-ground storage tanks, the fuel pump island, and underground piping. During the removal of fuel piping in 1998, contamination was found and "release" report to the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ). As of the 2016 Phase I and Phase II, the site is listed as an MDEQ active leaking underground storage tank site.
