Additional Property Attributes

Former mining machine and blacksmith shops. Later used as a scrap yard and tire recycling facility.

Former Use: Property was historically used for surface operations of the Champion #4 copper mine. These operations included the machine shop, the blacksmith shop, the drop forge shop, the supply shop, the oil house, the dry house, the electrical shop, the paint shop, and the paymaster's office. While the mine ceased operations in the mid-1900s, the machine shop continued to operate until 1998 producing mining equipment for other local mining operations. After there operations ceased, the property was used for scrap metal and scrap tire processing until 2009. The property tax reverted to the county in 2015.
