Additional Property Attributes

What appeared to be a mine shaft was observed in the cellar of the former restaurant called the Dew Drop Inn. Two half buried 55-gallon drums were observed in between the Dew Drop Inn and the Shifting Sands Bar on the subject site, one closed and one open. An opening to a larger subsurface space was observed through the bottom of the open 55-gallon drum.

Former Use: The Dew Drop Inn and Shifting Sands Bar are located on a 1.27-acre parcel in the town of Silver Peak, Esmeralda County, Nevada. An interview with a long-time, multi-generational resident of Silver Peak indicated the property had been out of use since the 1980s. Based on a review of historical documents, including Esmeralda County Assessor and Recorder records, and information obtained through interviews, the current owner of the subject site is Lloyd B. Austin as TTEE of the Lloyd B Austin DDS LTD Profit Sharing Trust (PST) is the current owner. The immediate past owner of the property was National Loan Co., LLC, that took ownership in 2006. The Phase II ESA found approximately 3000 square feet of asbestos containing building materials. No other contaminants were identified.
