Additional Property Attributes

The Lewistown Feed Mill is a 3,600 square feet (.3 acre) building located on a .65 acre lot on Main Street in Lewistown, MT. The building was constructed as a fruit and grocery warehouse in 1930. In the 1960's the property was used as fertilizer warehouse. The property was used as a warehouse, grinder, and a livestock feed mill. The building is currently vacant. The City of Lewistown would like to demolish or renovate the existing building as part of the Creekside Park and Pavilion project. Results of this Phase II ESA identified LBP, PCB ballasts, and mold at the Site. No asbestos containing material or mercury-containing thermostats were identified. Three 55-gallon drums and two 2.5 gallon containers of spent petroleum products, various roofing adhesive and solvent, and bulk containers of cobalt carbonate were present inside the building. Snowy Mountain Development Corporation, the City of Lewistown, Friends of Trials, and others have partnered for redevelopment of this property and an adjacent property. Currently, a market place, pavilion/stage, year around restrooms, creek-side dining, play ground, and parking have been proposed as a vision for the area.

Former Use: The City of Lewistown purchased the property in 2016. The building was constructed in 1930 as a warehouse and later used as a livestock feed mill.
