Additional Property Attributes

The Site is located at 119246 Goffs Road in Essex, San Bernardino County, California, and is composed of three parcels (Assessor Parcel Numbers 0656-181-13, 0656-181-14, and 0656-181-21) totaling approximately 13 acres. A two-story building, formerly used as a general store and restaurant, is situated on portions of all three parcels. A gasoline fuel dispenser island was located on the west of the building. The Site is bordered to the north by a railroad operated by Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. A dilapidated residential building is located on the northern Site parcel between the railroad and general store, and the area east of the general store is used as storage. Goffs Road and Mountain Springs Road run through the Site�s southern parcel. A railroad operations building and storage yard are located west of the Site. The land east, south and west of the Site is generally undeveloped with the exception of a telecommunications building located southeast of the Site. The Mojave Desert Heritage and Cultural Association, in partnership with a private developer, is working to redevelop the site into a general store and gasoline station in this very underserved portion of Route 66.

Former Use: The property is composed of three parcels totaling approximately 13 acres with a two-story building situated on portions of all three parcels. The Site operated as a general store and gas station from 1961 to 1992, and the general store and restaurant operated from 1996 to 2002. A gasoline fuel dispenser island was located on the west of the building.
