Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property is in a prime commercial location on the main street of Lame Deer, Montana. The blighted site is an eyesore that poses health hazards. The tribes and property owner want to demolish and remove the existing buildings to allow for safe housing development. The property contains a commercial building/warehouse constructed in 1934. Other structures are also located on the property (mobile homes and sheds) and since they are not listed in the database along with the commercial building, the age of the structures is unknown. The southern portion of the site is owned by Rebekah Knows His Gun and was acquired in 1963. The Northern portion is owned by Sylvester and Marie Knows His Gund, also acquired in 1963. The two contiguous parcels contained occupied dilapidated structures, which contained asbestos. The property is in a prime commercial location on the main street of Lame Deer. The tribes wanted to demolish and remove some or all of the existing buildings to allow for safe housing in the future. The building was abated and demolished and is ready for reuse
