The Tonopah Library Board and community involvement determined future usage and redevelopment of the Property was to place a concrete cap across the Property, creating a barrier over the soil that is contaminated with petroleum and lead, and utilizing that cap as a parking lot for the library and convention center. Construction of the concrete cap occurred from May 17, 2022 to July 13, 2022. All contaminated soils were kept-onsite and were capped with the concrete pavement. No soils were required to be removed from the site.

Additional Property Attributes

Past uses of the Property is documented as residential, a 678 square foot residence, constructed in 1931 is located on the property but is not apart of the current work scope. The Tonopah Library Board and community involvement determined redevelopment of the Property was to place a concrete cap across the Property, creating a barrier over the soil that is contaminated with petroleum and lead, and utilizing that cap as a parking lot for the library. The concrete cap was completed on July 13, 2022 and is used as a parking lot for the Tonopah Library.
Future work associated with the Property may include asbestos and lead abatement of the structure on the Property.
