Additional Property Attributes

START conducted a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) consisting of asbestos containing materials and lead based paint surveys along with visual inspections for mercury containing thermostat ampules, PCB ballasts, and mold. In addition, asbestos air samples and asbestos wipe samples (for presence/absence) were collected for informational purposes only. Results of the Phase II ESA identified asbestos flooring and ceiling tile glue dots are present in the building along with the previously identified drywall patch, undercoating on sinks, and crawlspace thermal system insulation debris and soil. All six air samples were non-detect for asbestos, but nine of the 10 dust wipe samples were positive for asbestos. Lead based paint was identified throughout the building. PCB ballasts and mercury thermostat ampules were found.

Former Use: The two story plus basement brick Head Start building was built in the 1930's by BIA consists of classrooms, offices, bathrooms, gym, nurse's and storage closets.
