Additional Property Attributes

The property currently consist of an approximately 3.8-acre, irregularly shaped tract of partially wooded land. An approximately 450-square-foot storage shed which was formerly used as an automotive shop is located on the southern portion of the property. Dirt driveways provide access to the property from South Church Avenue. Adjoining properties currently consist of: the former American Creosote Works (ACW) Superfund Site; undeveloped land to the north (former Mid South RR Refueling Station); a feed & fertilizer warehouse to the south; and the Bennet?s Do it Center to the east. Historical and Current use of the property prior to current use. The earliest record reviewed was the 1925 Sanborn Fire Insurance map that did not depict development on the property. The next earliest record, the 1942 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map, depicted an oil house located in the northwestern corner of the property. This portion of the property was historically part of the adjoining railroad locomotion turnaround and refueling station from prior to 1942 until the late 2000s,when the oil house building was demolished. Three above-ground storage tanks are depicted on the southwestern portion of the property on the 1942 Sanborn Fire Insurance map as part of the Louisville Oil Company which was reportedly later used by the Fair Oil Company and Chapman Oil Company. These operations occupied the property until sometime between 1974 and 1980. A small repair shop was reportedly operated out of the small building that remains on the southern portion of the property. A hydraulic lift was reportedly located on the concrete slab to the east of the shop, and a sump/oil-water separator may be present beneath the slab.
