Former Use: According to information from the Pickens County Tax Assessor�s website, the site consists of two parcels totaling approximate 1.91-acre site (Pickens County Tax Map Nos. 4065-10-36-6667 and 4065-10-36-4544) located at 300 Madden Bridge Road in Central, Pickens County, South Carolina. The site is currently improved with the Central Roller Mill and several associated buildings. The Central Roller Mill is not currently operational. According to a review of historical information, the site has been developed since as early as 1900s with the original mills building an expansion of the mill to include all the current structures and silos sometime in the 1930s. According to Mr. Bobby Ballantine, the small barn on the southeastern corner of the site was called the pesticide building. He stated to the best of his knowledge pesticide were not used in the processes on-site and/or the site not used for bulk sales of pesticide. However, the possible former presence of pesticides is considered a REC. Most of the surrounding properties have consisted of residential and commercial properties from the 1930 to the present with a filling station present to the southwest since the 1970s.
