Additional Property Attributes

Miller Park Parcels: The Miller Park Parcels consist of two parcels. The larger parcel (APN 009-0020-003) is approximately 58.5-acres and is used as Miller Regional Park (2701 Marina View Drive) and the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way). A smaller parcel (APN 009-0020-004) located within Miller Park. No physical address is associated with this second parcel. For the purposes of this report, the two parcels are identified as Miller Park Parcels. Eastern Parcel: The Eastern Parcel (APN 009-0030-021) is 3.2 acres on a triangular lot located east of Miller Park at 2700 Front Street. The parcel is currently developed with several structures that are used by the City of Sacramento Police Mounted Unit and City Parks and Latino Center of Art and Culture Center. Horse corrals are present the southern and western portions of the parcel. Northern Parcels: The northernmost portion of the Site consists of two parcels (APNs 009-0012-037 and 009-0012-069), which are approximately 0.52 acre in size and are located approximately 800 feet to the north of Miller Park. The addresses for these parcels are identified as Broadway with no street numbers. Both parcels are currently undeveloped. A railroad track and the Sacramento River Parkway and Delta Trail, built on top of a levee, runs between the two parcels. For the purposes of this report, the two parcels are identified as the Northern Parcels.

Former Use: Miller Park Parcels The two Miller Park Parcels were acquired by the City through a bequest prior to 1940. Based on a review of historical topographic maps and aerial photographs, Miller Park was first developed before 1937 as a park. Construction of the southern portion of the marina harbor began in around 1954 with boat slips. The harbor was expanded in the late 1980s to early 1990s to its current configuration. Eastern Parcel The City has owned this parcel since approximately 1983. Based on a review of historical topographic maps, aerial photographs and city directories, the property was used as agricultural land from before 1937 to the 1950s when it was first developed as a U.S. Military Reserve Unit with a campus of 10 buildings. The eastern buildings were demolished in preparation for the construction of Hwy 5 in the late 1960s or early 1970s. Four of the Reserve Unit buildings remain at the Site and have operated as a Welcome House, Visitor Center Folsom Prison Office and the Central Reception Center & Public Inebriate Program Office from the 1980s to 1990s. In 1998, the City began using the southern existing structures for the City of Sacramento Mounted Unit, including the stables, feed storage, outdoor exercise area and offices, and the northern existing structures for the City Parks Irrigation Department including a corporate yard and pesticide storage building. Northern Parcels Based on a review of available historical resources, the western parcels were developed with a lumber yard wharf in 1915. Both parcels have generally been undeveloped since then.
