Additional Property Attributes

The long term plan for the site is that it will become part of a plaza in front of Saint Charles Church. A previous asbestos inspection performed identified the possibility of asbestos-containing material (ACM), lead-based paint (LBP) and other environmental hazards being present, due to the age of the building. This Phase II ESA was conducted to further characterize potential contamination at the Site, prior to demolition activities. The results of the Phase II ESA identified ACM, LBP, PCB-ballasts, mercury thermostat switches, and mold as contaminants present at the Site.

Former Use: Hartman Hall was built in the late 1910s after the original buildings of Saint Francis Mission were destroyed by fire in 1916. Hartman Hall was the Jesuit community residence.
