Additional Property Attributes

The structure existed as a bookstore until a large fire that occurred on November 18, 2019 destroyed it and caused its collapse. The resulting burn debris was found to include asbestos-containing materials and lead-based paint. Subsequently, the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection's (NDEP's) Brownfields Program was asked to assist with cleaning up the debris. NDEP's Brownfields Program performed a supplemental Phase II assessment and a cultural resources inventory to prepare the site for cleanup. The burn debris was ultimately excavated and hauled to the local landfill by a private entity.
