Additional Property Attributes

The Finding the Flint Property is located at the corner of Elm Street and Willingham Drive in College Park, Fulton County, Georgia, approximately 0.3 miles south of downtown College Park. This site was selected by the Finding the Flint organization as a potential area for the preservation of the Flint River headwaters. The study area, consisting of two, vacant parcels of land, is herein referred to as "the Subject Property " or "the Site." According to information provided by Fulton County Tax Assessor records, the parcels are located at 0 Elm Street (Parcel ID 14 015800120866) and 0 Willingham Drive (Parcel ID 14 01580012775). The combined parcels total approximately 7.88 acres. The Subject Property was identified in fire insurance maps and interviews as a historic cotton mill (Gate City Cotton Mills and Gate City Yarns) from approximately 1925 through 1978. Due to length of historic operations as industrial facilities, and potential contamination from operations, this facility may pose an environmental risk to the Subject Property.
Concept planning for the Site began in July 2021, receiving funds from EPA grants awarded to College Park and East Point, and a draft concept plan was issued in August 2021.
