Additional Property Attributes

The 2.76 acres property was originally a Salt Lake County sheriff substation and was most recently operated as a county fleet vehicle maintenance and refueling facility. The site consists of two vacant buildings (a former warehouse/office building and a former maintenance building) and an inactive fueling station. There are two Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) on site with associated piping and dispenser islands. Assessment work is necessary to address the uncertainty associated with the vacant facility.

The Salt Lake County Fleet Site was previously operated as a county fleet vehicle maintenance and refueling facility. The site contained two USTs, one gasoline and one diesel, with associated piping and a single dispenser island with three fuel dispensers. Both USTs and associated piping were removed during the March 2023 Phase II ESA. Currently, the site consists of a maintenance building, a warehouse, a backfilled section which previously covered the USTs, and paved asphalt in between buildings. Laboratory analysis of two groundwater samples collected during the 2023 Phase II ESA found that concentrations of TPH-GRO and benzene exceeded EPA MCLs and Utah ISLs. Further sampling and monitoring is recommended to delineate the extent of contamination. Residential housing is planned for the future use of the site.
