Additional Property Attributes

Rectangle-shaped lots and former Asa Wood Elementary School building which operated from 1953 to 2011. The school building is a 42,200 square foot, single-story structure containing classrooms, a gymnasium and a commercial kitchen. The building was constructed in 1953 with additions in 1956, 1960, 1967, and 2015 (commercial kitchen). The commercial kitchen serves as a commissary providing school lunches for the Libby School District during the school year. The Site is no longer used as a school but is currently used by various non-profit agencies including the Girl Scouts of America and the Libby Food Bank and supports the Libby Community Garden, Inc. and other community events. The Lincoln County Port Authority (LCPA), Kootenai River Development Council (KRDC), and American Covenant Senior Housing Foundation, Inc. are planning on purchasing the property for reuse and redevelopment into a 45 unit assisted living facility with a 5,000 sq. ft. food bank.
