Additional Property Attributes

The property is currently owned by Sunshine Industrial, LLC.

50 Kietzke Lane has been occupied by GMS Logistics Corp., a trucking company, since March 2019. Road Safe Construction, a temporary road construction signage supplier, occupied the property circa 2015 to 2019, and included a sublease to GMS for the storage of vehicles. The historical uses of the property include used car dealers, a residential duplex which was demolished in the 1990s, and livestock accommodations for horses and goats. The property manager noted she recalls the former residence may have been equipped with an aboveground heating oil storage tank for the residential furnace.

The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony (RSIC) intends to purchase the property and restore it to an environmentally-safe and beautiful site that will be used for a variety of purposes. The uses will benefit the members of RSIC and members of the Reno-Sparks Community in general. The proposed uses include elderly housing, a tribal cultural center, green space, a justice center (that will house the tribal court and law enforcement), and walking and biking trails. Much of the space will be accessible and open to the general public. RSIC's planned uses for the property will provide continuity on the Truckee River Corridor. RSIC anticipates that the project, when fully realized, will provide additional jobs for both tribal members and members of the public. Those positions will be both professional and non-professional, and will be in the areas of landscaping, building maintenance, communication/I.T., law enforcement, court staffing, and other related areas.
