Additional Property Attributes

The property contains the Temple Beth Shalom, Long Beach synagogue in Long Beach, California that includes a religious school and offers prayer services and other educational programs. Located in a mixed commercial, retail and residential area a few blocks from Interstate 405, the property includes a northern parcel that is vacant and undeveloped and a southern parcel containing three buildings and parking areas. The property previously had oil derricks (pumps) from 1928 until the 1950s, when they were abandoned. The synagogue was built in 1963. As a societal benefit organization, Temple Beth Shalom seeks to maintain and remodel the buildings on the southern parcel for continued use, serving its members and the local community with educational and religious services. Temple Beth Shalom is in the process of selling the northern parcel. The potential buyer has proposed residential development for the site.
