Additional Property Attributes

The subject property consists of an unoccupied one-story commercial building with a basement, a detached underground shelter, an asphalt parking lot, and open soil areas. The subject property was developed with a commercial building used as a passenger railroad depot for the City of Trinidad since at least 1930. The building was later converted into a restaurant and owned by various owners from 1998 through 2018 (Tetra Tech 2021a). The property owner and developer, 516 E Elm, LLC, plans to develop the currently unoccupied building into a mixed retail space to include a pizzeria, brewery, and bicycle shop to serve the City of Trinidad and visitors to the new Fishers Peak State Park. The current vacant western portion of the subject property is planned to be developed into a multi-story, mixed-use complex with retail on the ground level and mixed-income housing on the second and third levels with up to 24 residential units.
