Additional Property Attributes

The Pinal Airpark is near the southern border of Pinal County. It is northwest of the town of Marana in Southern Arizona. The Targeted Brownfields Assessment focused on a portion of the Pinal Airpark property with 40 residential and commercial buildings. The property was developed in 1942 as the Marana Army Airfield and used as a training base for military pilots. The military removed most of the buildings and gave the property to Pinal County after World War II. Many of the remaining buildings are in disrepair and hazardous building materials, such as asbestos and lead-based paint, are a concern.
