Additional Property Attributes

The Freight Building in the downtown park had a large metal pipe that extended from the subfloor and was open to the interior of the building. It was filled with a mix of water and had a petroleum-like sheen. OCC Brownfield Program was called to investigate in case the pipe was connected to an underground storage tank of some sort. After a Phase I and Phase II, the freight building area was declared to have no action necessary--the only contaminants found were metals in a groundwater sample that could have been due to turbidity-related high metal counts in the sample itself. As the OCC Brownfield Program conducted our assessment work, the park was being built around the freight building--including the 50-foot tall "leg lamp" from A Christmas Story. The original creator of the leg lamp prototype is a man from Chickasha, so the city is hoping to capitalize on this unique claim to fame to make their already-great Christmas celebration even grander!
