Additional Property Attributes

The Village of Winslow is a municipality surrounded by agricultural areas and located approximately 10 miles north of the City of Fremont, Nebraska. Further, the Village of Winslow is located within a special flood hazard area of the Elkhorn River and has been affected by a number of flooding events, most recently in 2019. The community is surrounded by a levee system but sustained substantial damage during the Spring 2019 flooding events. Many structures (residential and commercial) in the community were extensively damaged and are uninhabitable without major repairs. As a result, the Village of Winslow is participating in a FEMA property acquisition project to remove as many structures as possible from the mapped floodplain. Hazardous Materials Surveys were performed to determine if asbestos-containing materials (ACM) or lead-based paint (LBP) were present in building materials at 28 residential properties within the Village of Winslow. Results of the Hazardous Materials Surveys indicated the presence of ACM at 12 residential properties and LBP at 21 residential properties. Specific addresses for the residential properties surveyed for hazardous building materials are: 303, 400, 401, 403, and 409 Dodge Avenue; 101, 102, 103, 202, 306, 309, 401, 403, 404, 406, 408, and 409 Elkhorn Avenue; Lots 9-10 Block 12, 307, and 407 Logan Street; 303, 401, and 405 Main Street; 204 and 208 Nebraska Street; 400 South Street; 209 U.S. Highway 77; and 203 Washington Street.
