Property Highlights

The site was first developed in 1910 for the storage, packaging, and washing of locally grown apples. Operations ceased in 1996 and the site had been vacant since that time. Site remediation to residential standards will allow the site to be redeveloped for housing.

Former Use: The Youngstown Cold Storage site is 2.4-acres currently occupied by three structures including a deteriorating stone warehouse, a brick ice house and a vacant house. Fruit washing, cold storage and distribution operation ceased at the property in 1996. The Village of Youngstown obtained the site through tax foreclosure. Residential reuse is planned for the site.
