Additional Property Attributes

The Site consists of an approximate 2.31-acre irregular-shaped lot. The Site is developed with the remaining portion of one of the former Site buildings, which is currently used by four phone companies to house equipment. The former Site buildings were recently demolished in 2008, and demolition debris is ubiquitous across the Site. The Site is accessible via Derby Drive which traverses the eastern side of the Site. According to the City of Gardner Assessors Office, the Site is currently owened by RHO Ltd.

Former Use: The Site consists of an approximate 2.31-acre irregular-shaped lot, located at 58 Rear Main Street in downtown Gardner, Massachusetts. The Site is developed with a small shed and a portion of one of the former Site buildings, currently used by four phone companies to house equipment. The two former Site buildings were recently demolished in 2008. and demolition debris is ubiquitous across the Site. The Site is accessible via Derby Drive traverses the eastern side of the Site. According to TRC's review of Sanborn Maps for the Site, J.A. Dunn Manufacture of Cane Seat Chairs occupied the Site from at least 1889 to 1923. From at least 1932 to 1940, Kuniholm Manufacturing Co, manufacturer of baby carriage hardware, occupied the Site. According to the Phase I ESA completed by Tighe & Bond in 2002, Gem Industries, Inc. operated at the 58 Rear Main Street property from 1940 until 1990. From 1977 until approximately 1993, l products including hardware for caskets and cribs were assembled in the western building, and the eastern building was utilized for storage purposes. In 1993, Superior Friction began operations at the Site, who manufactured break pads in the western building.
