Additional Property Attributes

The community planned on renovating and remodeling this community center to make it handicap accessible and better utilized by various groups and organizations. Due to the expense of removing contaminants (asbestos) the renovation was placed on hold. Once the contamination has been removed, the community will renovate the property so it can be fully used by the community.

Former Use: Built in 1943 as a WPA project. The upper story was used for a movie theater prior to the 1950's. Currently the building serves as the meeting site of several service groups, some recreational events, and as the command center for city emergencies. The building is not handicap accessible and will be renovated to meet this requirement.
