Additional Property Attributes

The property is approximately 1.606 acres and is currently owned by Ms. Treasa Antony. No buildings are currently located on the subject property. A large debris pile is located in the central portion of the property. Mr. Joseph Fairfax, a previous owner, used the subject property from the early 1950s to the late 1980s as an automobile junkyard and repair facility. Mr. Afework Henegnaw owned the property from 1988 until 2004 when it was sold to Ms. Treasa Antony, the current owner. Three buildings were previously located on the subject property as early as 1960. According to Mr. Younts, in the early to mid-80s Mr. Fairfax reportedly burned down two of the three on-site buildings. The final building was bulldozed in 2004. In 2005, approximately 400 cars that were present on the subject property were crushed and removed off-site. In 2004, construction of a bar was started on the subject property, and a new concrete pad foundation was poured in 2004. However, the City of Houston suspended construction due to a lack of necessary permits. The building was never completed. The concrete building pad is still present on the property.

Former Use: Mr. Joseph Fairfax, a previous owner, used the subject property from the early 1950s to the late 1980s as an automobile junkyard and repair facility. Mr. Afework Henegnaw owned the property from 1988 until 2004 when it was sold to Ms. Treasa Antony, the current owner. Information from property interviews: According to Mr. Younts, the owner of Dave�s Foreign Auto Parts, which is located adjacent north of the subject property, the property was previously owned by Mr. Joe Fairfax. According to Mr. Younts, Mr. Fairfax operated an auto junk yard and repair facility at the property from the early 1950s to the late 1980s. According to Mr. Younts, EPA personnel visited the site in the Weston Solutions, Inc. � Phase I Environmental Site Assessment � 7407 Scott Street, Houston, TX SITE RECONNAISSANCE AND INTERVIEWS 4-2 1980s and were going to fine Mr. Fairfax. Mr. Fairfax reportedly burned two buildings that were present on the subject property, and bulldozed the debris into a large pile. Mr. Fairfax passed away before and EPA enforcement could be issued. At that time, approximately 400 cars were left on the subject property. They were crushed and hauled away in approximately 2005.
