556. On September 30, 2014, EPA published a rule to finalize the addition of a nonylphenol category to the list of toxic chemicals subject to TRI reporting under EPCRA §313 (79 FR 58686). Does this mean that all nonylphenols are subject to EPCRA §313 reporting?
EPA listed the nonylphenol category as a delimited category defined by a specific list of chemical names and Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) Registry Numbers. Therefore, only the following six listed chemicals are reportable under the nonylphenol category for the purposes of TRI reporting: 4-Nonylphenol (CAS 104—40—5), Isononylphenol (CAS 11066-49-2), Nonylphenol (CAS 25154-52-3), 4-Isononylphenol (CAS 26543-97-5), 4-Nonylphenol, branched (CAS 84852-15-3), and Nonylphenol, branched (CAS 90481-04-2). This final rule is effective on September 30, 2014, and applies for the reporting year
beginning January 1, 2015 (reports due July 1, 2016).
