WaterOperator.org aggregates training events and downloadable resources for water and wastewater operators in a free, user-friendly location, maintaining updated information from more than 800 state and national organizations.

Northwest Biosolids

Northwest Biosolids began pooling resources to partner with local universities to fund research projects that helped answer the following questions: What is in biosolids? How do treatment methods affect biosolids? When and where is it safe to use? Are there benefits to using biosolids? What happens to contaminants in biosolids? What are the best markets for biosolids? This access to research allowed Northwest Biosolids to have an informed voice in regulations development and outreach to our communities.

Department of Energy

The United States Department of Energy (DOE) is a branch of the federal government that oversees U.S. national energy policy, addressing energy, environmental, and nuclear challenges through science and technology solutions. DOE hosted a Water Resource Recovery Prize, which challenged multidisciplinary teams to present innovative solutions for resource recovery at small- to medium-sized water treatment facilities. To help lower the cost of treatment by extracting additional value from wastewater, the prize sought innovative ideas to increase resource recovery from municipal wastewater treatment plants across the United States.
